About IXP.US
Connected Nation Internet Exchange Points (d/b/a IXP.US) is a 50/50 joint venture between Connected Nation, Inc. and Newby Ventures, led by carrier hotel pioneer Hunter Newby. Our mission is to improve connectivity for everyone by creating neutral network interconnection facilities, called Internet Exchange Points, in regional hub communities across the United States.
Neutral by design
A level playing field for every network
One price list
Every network pays the same list prices, so no competitor gets a better deal than you do.
We don't compete with you
IXP.US doesn't sell network services. We're the neutral facility where networks meet.
Open to every network
Rural telcos, co-ops, regional fiber providers, ISPs, carriers, cloud, content and research networks.
More than one exchange
Several exchanges can operate in one IXP, so networks can choose where they peer, or peer on more than one.
Public-interest roots
IXP.US is half owned by Connected Nation, a national nonprofit that has worked to close the digital divide for 25 years.
How we build
A public-private model, repeatable in any region
Find the gap
We focus on regional hub communities where networks have no neutral place to meet and traffic is carried to distant cities to be exchanged.
Partner locally
We work with state broadband offices, public institutions and local leaders to secure a site and long-term site control.
Fund it together
Public infrastructure grants and private investment share the cost, as the Kansas LINC Program did in Wichita.
Build it once, right
A hardened, modular building with diverse fiber entrances, Meet Me Areas and room to grow, designed for networks first.
Open it to every network
Exchanges, carriers, cloud and content providers and local networks all connect on the same terms.
Wichita is the first. It won't be the last.
Each of our 135 target communities is a regional hub where networks have no neutral place to meet today. Wichita shows what that place looks like when it's built.
